As we approach One Piece Chapter 1172, the community is buzzing with theories about one of the most intriguing revelations from the Elbaf arc: the frozen Galleila Giants. What started as a legend has evolved into a mystery that could reshape the entire final conflict of the series.
Ragnir's Devastating Power
The legendary weapon Ragnir has proven itself to be far more than just a simple armament. With its dual abilities of lightning and ice, this weapon represents one of the most versatile tools we've seen in the One Piece world. But it's the freezing capability that has everyone talking.
We've already witnessed Ragnir's terrifying power firsthand when it instantly froze Drogger, a massive enemy on the battlefield. The scale of this feat cannot be understated we're talking about freezing a giant creature in the blink of an eye. This isn't your typical ice power; this is something on an entirely different level.
The Galleila Giants: From Myth to Reality
For the longest time, the Galleila Giants were dismissed as nothing more than folklore, tales told to children around campfires. That all changed when Elder Harul received a mysterious message confirming not only their existence but their current state: frozen and sealed somewhere on Earth.
This raises so many questions. Who sent this message? How did they know about the Giants? Some fans are speculating that Ratatosc, the squirrel messenger connected to Ragnir, might have been the one to deliver this crucial information. It would certainly fit the Norse mythology themes that Elbaf has been exploring.
A Strategic Freeze?
Here's where things get really interesting. What if freezing the Galleila Giants wasn't an act of aggression, but rather a strategic preservation? Think about it these ancient warriors possess incredible strength that could turn the tide of any battle. By freezing them, someone may have prevented the World Government or even Imu from exploiting their power.
It's reminiscent of what happened with Loki himself. Sometimes the most powerful beings need to be kept off the board until the right moment arrives. The question is: what's the trigger for their awakening?
Loki: The Key to Everything
Currently, Loki stands as the only individual who has inherited Ragnir's abilities. He's demonstrated this power by freezing beings far larger than himself, and his potential seems almost limitless. But more importantly, he appears to be the only one who knows the location of the sealed Giants.
While characters like Kuzan, Brook, and Yamato all wield ice-based abilities, none of them have the knowledge or seemingly the power to unlock this particular seal. This makes Loki an absolutely critical player in the events to come.
The Sun God Connection
One theory gaining traction is that the Giants will remain frozen until a specific condition is met—possibly the arrival or intervention of the Sun God. Given Luffy's recent transformation and his connection to this legendary figure, could he be the key to awakening these ancient warriors?
If Loki manages to assemble the Galleila Giants into a crew or allied force, we're looking at a power shift of catastrophic proportions. These aren't just regular giants; these are warriors so formidable that someone went through the trouble of freezing them for what might have been centuries.
The Final War Approaches
Imu mentioned the Final War for a reason. The allegiance of the Galleila Giants could very well determine its outcome. Imagine an army of these ancient, incredibly powerful warriors entering the battlefield. The current balance of power would be completely shattered.
This is why the mystery of who froze them and why becomes so crucial. Was it an act of mercy, strategy, or containment? And more importantly, what happens when they're finally awakened?
What We Still Don't Know
Despite all the speculation and theories, there's still so much shrouded in mystery. We don't know the full extent of Ragnir's devil fruit powers beyond lightning and ice. The detailed mechanics of how the freezing and unfreezing works remain unclear. And the identity of whoever sent that message to Elder Harul is still up in the air.
These gaps in our knowledge are what make the upcoming chapters so exciting. Oda has a way of dropping bombshells when we least expect them, and the Elbaf arc has been full of surprises already.
Looking Ahead
As Chapter 1172 approaches, all eyes are on Loki and the frozen Giants. Will we finally get to see them awakened? Will we learn more about Ragnir's true origins and capabilities? And perhaps most importantly, whose side will these legendary warriors be on when they finally break free from their icy prison?
One thing is certain: the pieces are being set for something massive. The frozen Galleila Giants represent a wild card that could change everything we thought we knew about the endgame of One Piece. Whether they'll be allies, enemies, or something in between remains to be seen.
The Final War is coming, and when those Giants thaw, the entire world of One Piece will never be the same.

That's a thought I had earlier but after the flashback I don't think it will work. Looking at harald, sufficient damage was enough to slow down his regeneration and for him to get back some of his sanity. But this took massive effort and the effect was temporary. Setting aside that gunko is possessed by imu even if music gets more of gunko back it shouldn't last long. TBH I don't see the strawhats actually having a chance to win this conflict as it is. It appears the domi reversi victims will continue until they run out of energy or something akin to that... and die. I think a sufficiently strong conqueror haki blast may be able to get imu out of gunko at least temporarily but such a thing would most likely outright kill gunko. For now the most obvious way to end the conflict would appear to be destroying the magic circle at the throne room. Which may cause the knights to get sent back to mary geoise and distance alone could be enough to undo domi reversi. IF the vulnerability to imu's side is the magic circle I'd also expect it to be fairly resilient (requiring cladding to destroy) and perhaps to be guarded by creatures like the one seen in shamrock's sword.
I wonder what´s Zoro´s plan..cause it obviously not only it cannot involve getting in the middle of the Domi Reversed giants ,,to be turned,,but also need to involve,, NOT TO MURDER THE SHIT OUT OF THEM,,, they have to find a way to turn them back somehow.
Don't forget that Zoro's in-fight analysis and plans are quite versed. His simple "I will cut" fashion is more like an attitude. Him stating to the group that he has a plan, is very unusual. Zoro is not a cunningly sharp character but he definitely is not stupid either. I believe that his idea is profound. The comedic factor will most likely be that he had some knowledge or powers which he never cared to tell about or show to his crew. No normal OP character can quickly devise a plan against a demonic power from the main villain himself. I'm fully prepared for a big surprise. Or a big disappointment.
And,
my wild guess is that Brooks will be able to cancel Imu's possessing ability!
Chapter sounds weirdly epic for a setup chapter. And Jarul's words sound like what I said in an earlier post... If imu 14 years ago said Elbaf was of D and couldn't be made into allies then imu must be quite desperate for forces if he did something this brazen.
Before the flashback it didn't seem like elbaf had the means to fight back against the giants that imu transformed... But hearing Jarul's speech makes me feel like my initial impression is wrong. It'd be quite amazing if elbaf is not helpless against a threat like this. Imu is unkillable as far as we know but I'd imagine that against a sufficiently powerful force even he could be wore down by sheer attrition. It's one thing to be unkillable and another to fight forever. Specially if his abilities have a cost (deal with the devil type thing) and with the cladding users around his knights being at risk. I feel like sommers is due to die.
