The official trailer for "Now You See Me: Now You Don’t," unveiled on Tuesday, features Jesse Eisenberg auditioning a new troupe of illusionists. Eisenberg, reprising his role as J. Daniel Atlas, promises the new magicians a trick that is “bigger and better than anything you have ever seen.” This latest installment of the "Now You See Me" franchise is set to deliver more elaborate heists through captivating stage productions.
Promotional Stunt
To celebrate the trailer's debut, Lionsgate executed a unique promotional stunt in New York City, giving away $250,000 in digital payments to fans of the franchise. A Times Square billboard showcased a live countdown clock and encouraged locals and tourists to text or call for a surprise. As the countdown reached zero, the billboard revealed the phrase “Now You Don’t,” coinciding with fans receiving a surprise text that included the official trailer and instant cash prizes, courtesy of The Horsemen.
Cast and Production Insights
Franchise newcomers Ariana Greenblatt, Justice Smith, and Dominic Sessa participated in the Times Square event, which Lionsgate described as a visual “heist.” The returning cast includes Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, and Dave Franco as the Four Horsemen, with Rosamund Pike and Morgan Freeman joining the ensemble.
While details about the movie have been scarce, Eisenberg confirmed in March 2024 that the screenplay was completed and filming was anticipated to begin within six months. Production progressed swiftly, with filming wrapping up in November 2024.
Behind the Scenes
The third installment sees the return of screenwriters Ed Solomon and Boaz Yakin, who collaborated on the script with Seth Grahame-Smith. Director Ruben Fleischer, known for his work on "Zombieland," is at the helm of this project. In August 2024, newcomer Greenblatt shared her preparations for the role, stating, “I’ve been at the Magic Castle every other day, learning magic,” highlighting her dedication to mastering the craft.
