The God Valley Incident flashback in the One Piece manga continues to deliver seismic revelations, and the upcoming One Piece Chapter 1164 is poised to drop even more historic bombshells! As the narrative dives deep into the world's most guarded secrets, one figure stands at the center of the chaos: the legendary captain, Rocks D. Xebec

⚡ Rocks D. Xebec and the Dark Truth of God Valley

The flashback, occurring during the ongoing Egghead Incident Arc, has finally unveiled the face of the mysterious Xebec, who bears an undeniable, uncanny resemblance to his eventual son, Marshall D. Teach (Blackbeard). The truth behind the infamous God Valley Incident 38 years ago is far more horrifying than previously known.

  • The World Government's Cover-Up: The official history states that the alliance between Gol D. Roger and Monkey D. Garp defeated Xebec. The flashback has confirmed this secret alliance, which Sengoku and the Marines desperately kept hidden to maintain the facade of Marine strength.

  • Celestial Dragon Atrocities: Even more disturbing is the context of the island itself. Kuma's backstory previously shared a chilling glimpse of the Native Hunting Competition, where Celestial Dragons select an island every three years to eradicate its native population and "unwanted slaves" in a sickening killing competition. This was the true trap laid for Xebec.

🌊 The Davy Clan: Rocks' Shocking Identity and Imu's Motives

Chapter 1163 delivered the most staggering reveal of all: the pirate known as Rocks D. Xebec is, in fact, a descendant of the mythical figure Davy Jones, and his full name is believed to be Davy D. Xebec.

    CharacterRevelation in the FlashbackSignificance
Rocks D. XebecIdentified as a descendant of the Davy Clan/Davy Jones.Directly connects the modern era to one of the most obscure legends.
Imu (The Ruler)Possessed Saint Jaygarcia Saturn and spoke to Xebec as "Davy Jones."Confirms Imu's awareness of the Davy Clan and their connection to the past.
Marshall D. TeachThe alleged son of Xebec; likely the sole surviving member of the Davy Clan.Positions Blackbeard for a crucial role in the story's "Final Saga."

Xebec's exchange with Imu suggested a profound knowledge of the past, as he spoke of a "promise," implying a deep connection or oath between Imu and the original Davy Jones. This confirms the Davy Clan survived by taking root in the criminal underworld, though their numbers dwindled drastically.

The previous chapter ended on a devastating cliffhanger: Imu, determined to wipe out the remaining Davy descendants, unleashed the terrifying ability "Domi Reversi" on Xebec, compelling him to kill his own wife and two-year-old son (likely Blackbeard). Xebec, fully aware of the trap at God Valley, may have sacrificed himself to protect his family.

📢 Editor's Hype: Chapter 1164 to Reveal "Pasts and Destinies"

The anticipation for the next installment is immense, fueled by the official preview from the Weekly Shōnen Jump (WSJ) issue. The translated preview for One Piece Chapter 1164 reads:

"What pasts and destinies are about to be revealed next?"

This teasing comment by the manga editors hints at major plot reveals. Given the current context, fans speculate that Chapter 1164 will likely:

  1. Unveil the Void Century Connection: The "pasts" almost certainly refer to the true history of the Void Century and the nature of the war that created the World Government.

  2. Define Blackbeard's Future: The "destinies" likely focus on the future role of the Davy Clan, specifically Blackbeard (Marshall D. Teach), the man seemingly set to be one of Luffy's final major antagonists.

  3. Conclude Xebec's Fate: The chapter may show the tragic, final moments of Rocks D. Xebec as his body fights against Imu's control, solidifying his role as a tragic figure whose defeat was a necessary but horrific act.

One Piece Chapter 1164 is officially set for release on Sunday, November 2, 2025 (check local time zones for exact release). Do not miss this chapter as the foundation of the One Piece world is shattered, one lore bomb at a time!

While the official, detailed spoilers (raw scans and full summaries) for One Piece Chapter 1164 are typically released mid-week, they are not fully confirmed yet as of today, Tuesday, October 28, 2025. They are generally expected to surface between Wednesday and Thursday.

However, based on the official editor's preview and the shocking cliffhanger of Chapter 1163, here is a summary of the confirmed setup and the highly anticipated events expected for Chapter 1164, which is titled with the teaser: "What pasts and destinies are about to be revealed next?"

Confirmed Setup for Chapter 1164 (From Chapter 1163's Ending)

The entire chapter will focus on the immediate aftermath of Imu's devastating attack on Rocks D. Xebec during the God Valley Incident:

  • Rocks Under Control: Imu used the terrifying ability "Domi Reversi" on Rocks.

  • A Tragic Order: The chapter 1163 ended with Imu commanding the possessed Rocks to "execute his own family"—his wife (possibly named Eris) and his two-year-old son, Marshall D. Teach (Blackbeard).

  • The Impossible Fight: The upcoming chapter must now resolve the core conflict: Rocks, the strongest man on the seas, is a mind-controlled puppet forced to commit the ultimate atrocity.

Highly Anticipated and Predicted Events

Chapter 1164 is expected to detail the tragic resolution of the God Valley Incident, directly addressing the editor's hint about "pasts and destinies."

Predicted EventSignificance to the Lore
Rocks' Final StandThe chapter is expected to show Rocks fighting for control over his body, potentially providing a final burst of free will before his defeat. This is likely how he is injured or ultimately taken down.
Garp & Roger vs. "Demon" RocksMonkey D. Garp and Gol D. Roger will be forced to fight their possessed foe to stop the massacre, solidifying their reputation as heroes who "defeated" Rocks.
Blackbeard's Scar and SurvivalWe may finally see how the infant Marshall D. Teach survives the ordeal and how he acquires the three signature scars on his face, possibly a result of the chaotic fight or a desperate act by his mother to protect him.
The Void Century LinkThe chapter is the perfect moment to reveal the "promise" Xebec mentioned to Imu and confirm the relationship between the Davy Clan and the Void Century, providing a massive lore drop that links the ancient past to Blackbeard's current goals.

About

One Piece Manga Online
One Piece (Japanese: ワンピース Hepburn: Wan Pisu) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since July 22, 1997, and has been collected into 94 tankobon volumes.

Enter Monkey D. Luffy, a 17-year-old boy that defies your standard definition of a pirate. Rather than the popular persona of a wicked, hardened, toothless pirate who ransacks villages for fun, Luffy’s reason for being a pirate is one of pure wonder; the thought of an exciting adventure and meeting new and intriguing people, along with finding One Piece, are his reasons of becoming a pirate. Following in the footsteps of his childhood hero, Luffy and his crew travel across the Grand Line, experiencing crazy adventures, unveiling dark mysteries and battling strong enemies, all in order to reach One Piece.

Seems to also imply Joyboy wasnt a king at all. He was simply the first pirate in that clan. Seems Davy Jones may have been the king of the Ancient Kingdom.

The 20 Kings revolted and we are in the current predicament. I assume this is also why Rayleigh says to not rush in coming to a conclusion about certain things regarding the Void Century. Given how different Blackbeard and Luffy are, I assume Davy Jones was oppressive and the D. Clan are the cause of their own demise in a way.

I believe Rocks ate the Yomi Yomi and went after BB's body after his death ("it's not him, it's them") to fulfill his promisse to Imu (I'll be back). That would explain Ace's comment about him living "twice as much as the others" and Marco saying he has a different body hence able to eat two devil fruits.

God Valley had targeted both Kuma and Blackbeard as “Super Rare Rabbits,” so the Celestial Dragons were far more insistent on killing them. The former took action and became a hero, transporting 500 slaves to safety, but Chapter 1164 proves that he also took civilians. Blackbeard might have been too young to remember Kuma in the current One Piece timeline, but that doesn’t make his act right. Before the full truth about God Valley was revealed, we didn’t know enough about Blackbeard’s past and hardships. He never slept and was an orphan was all we knew, but the recent chapters show that he, too, was a victim of the World Government, just for being born a Davy and as Rocks’ son.Throughout One Piece, however, he has shown no remorse or guilt for his actions. Blackbeard betrayed the Whitebeard Pirates, gave Ace to the World Government, harassed Bonney, defeated Law, destroyed the Heart Pirates, enslaved Koby, Pudding, and now Garp. We can throw away the theory that he and Luffy will ever team up together. He also attacked Amazon Lily and didn’t care if his crewmates wanted to engage in n*crophilia with Boa Hancock or s*xually assault her if they took her hostage instead of killing her immediately. Overall, One Piece has proven to us that if anybody is unforgivable and rotten, it’s Blackbeard. He’s an insult to Rocks D. Xebec’s legacy, who was at least an honorable man.Is Blackbeard a truly terrible person, or will One Piece change our minds once again?

read a pretty interesting theory in a random reddit post from 2 YEARS AGO, about davy jones, even before we saw the "mural of harley" , before we knew joyboy was the first pirate, he was right about so mny things.

Theory bellow:

"I’ve got a completely different theory about Davy Jones.

Historians usually think the original story of Davy Jones’ Locker comes from the “ghost of Jonah” in the Hebrew Bible, the guy who got swallowed by a giant whale after being thrown into the sea.

But my guess is that Davy Jones was actually an island-whale like Laboon, cursed to live forever at the bottom of the ocean, with Laugh Tale hidden inside him. I also think he used to be one of Joy Boy’s companions, just like Zunesha, and that over time the World Government twisted the story to make Davy Jones sound like a villain.

It’s actually pretty likely that Laugh Tale is inside a whale:

When we first enter the Grand Line, the crew’s first “island” is actually inside Laboon. So the final island could be inside a whale too.
Laboon’s species are literally called island whales.
Before entering the New World, Brook plays Binks’ Sake and the island whales recognize the song and guide the crew forward.
Roger’s crew also played Binks’ Sake when they went to Laugh Tale, maybe it’s even required to get inside the whale.
There’s a whale engraved on Shandora’s Golden Bell, and a monkey with a straw hat right next to it.
On Zou, there’s that massive whale tree — and inside it, they find the first Road Poneglyph.

Every place connected to the Void Century or the Ancient Kingdom seems to have some kind of whale reference. That can’t just be a coincidence.

It could also explain the name Davy Back Fight, maybe the original fight literally took place on Davy’s back.
And if you think about it, Joy Boy was probably the first Pirate King, or even the very first pirate ever , so it makes sense he might’ve created the Davy Back games himself."

Laugh Tale being a whale is weak and means there could be as many LT similar islands as there are whales in the One Piece universe. That is pretty boring for the final island.

My own theory is making Laugh Tale unique by being a fabricated island that Joy Boy created with Nika powers by stretching the seafloor upon itself. That is why the Log Pose can’t find it.

We also have had a clue about Laugh Tale being fabricated with the Wano arc in which we discovered that the natural Wano borders have actually been man-made along with Wano itself whose original side was at base of Mount Fuji and whose current location has been enlarged by adding additional lands to the original Wano island.

That is also consistent with Nika powers being a requirement in top of the One Piece to help terraform the Earth and avoid repeting the disaster than occured at end of first world by those who tried to channel the free underground energy (deity of the Earth) to the light at surface level (Sun God).

The promised day of the meeting of the 2 sovereigns (mentioned by Sea Kings and in Elbaf poem) is when the deity of the Earth meets the Sun God so when free energy is accessible to surface people. That’s poetry not litteral meaning.

DFs were created in second world and inspired by myths including the Warrior of Liberation myth - my guess is that the advanced technological kingdom from first world invented the Sun God myth to motivate their workers/slaves digging the Earth claiming they would be free of underground labor when they would bring the free energy (deity of the Earth) to surface level hence when they meet the light = Sun God Nika.

Then Joy Boy used this first world positive Nika myth to imagine the Nika DF with the technology developed by the AK after it came back to Earth and discovered the lineage factor alterations in humanoid species exposed to free energy after the first world destruction.

As for the Nika Warrior God of Destruction myth it was born out of the disaster that happened at first world when advanced technological kindgom failed and had to flee to the Moon. Human kingdoms said Nika was a God of Destruction and Davy Jones used this negative myth to create the Black Nika = Warrior of Destruction or Yami Yami no Mi.

Luffy being White Nika = Joy Boy’s created DF and Teach being Black Nika = Davy Jones’ created DF is 100% plot convenient. Black Nika DF has probably played a significative role in White Nika DF defeat during Void Century which is the reason that 20 kingdoms promised Davy Jones to become the king of the world before betraying him with the Empty Throne. We need to also have a Luffy/Teach confrontation between the Warrior God of Liberation and the Warrior God of Destruction and new Joy Boy getting revenge over new Davy Jones.
