Honestly, nobody saw this coming quite so fast.
With so many storylines still hanging in the air, most fans assumed Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo had at least three full volumes worth of story left to tell. The conflict between sorcerers and Simurians felt like it needed room to breathe. But then Weekly Shōnen Jump dropped a bombshell alongside chapter #24 on March 1, 2026 a "Super Climax" announcement that made it clear Gege Akutami was ready to wrap things up, and soon.
The Ending Nobody Expected
Chapter #25, released Sunday, March 8, 2026 in WSJ Issue #15, turned out to be the final chapter of the series. Complete with a special color page, it brought the curtain down on the sorcerer-Simurian war and at least in part addressed the broader question of how Japan's jujutsu world will handle cursed spirits going forward.
It's a bittersweet feeling for fans who've been along for the ride. On one hand, Akutami clearly poured himself into this sequel, using it to fix some of the loose ends that left readers unsatisfied when the original Jujutsu Kaisen concluded. On the other hand, "sooner than expected" is putting it mildly.
Where to Read It
If you haven't caught up yet, chapter #25 is available for free on Manga Plus, SHUEISHA's official app. No subscription needed just the same platform that's carried the series from the start.
Yuji's Story, Finally
The biggest draw heading into the finale was always Yuji Itadori. Throughout Modulo, he's been oddly distant face obscured, cut off from the people he used to fight alongside. It's the kind of deliberate narrative choice that either pays off beautifully or leaves you frustrated. Fans desperately wanted to know: does Yuji get a happy ending? Does he get any ending?
The final chapter gave readers what they'd been waiting for, and the response has been emotional, to say the least.
Chapter 26 Prediction: What Could Come Next?
Now, here's where it gets interesting. Chapter #25 may have closed the book on Modulo's main conflict but the ending left enough threads dangling that a chapter #26, whether as a bonus epilogue or the launch of something new, feels almost inevitable.
Here's what fans are speculating:
Yuji Steps Back Into the Light. The most emotionally resonant move would be showing Yuji reconnecting with old allies Megumi, Nobara, or whoever survived the events of the original series. A single full-page spread of Yuji's face, finally unobscured, would hit harder than almost anything else Akutami could draw.
A Time Skip Epilogue. Modulo has been playing with the idea of a world rebuilding after catastrophic jujutsu conflict. A chapter set years later showing the state of jujutsu education, new sorcerers, a changed Tokyo would provide closure while leaving the door open.
The Simurian Aftermath. The war may be over, but what happens to surviving Simurians? A chapter exploring coexistence (or continued tension) would add real thematic weight to everything that came before.
A Spin-Off Tease. Akutami has earned the benefit of the doubt. If chapter #26 ends with a "Next Project" page, the internet will collectively lose its mind and honestly, it would be deserved.
Whatever comes next, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo stuck the landing better than most expected. And if Akutami has one more page left to give? Fans will absolutely be there for it.
