Here’s my breakdown of why this chapter hits so hard.
The Gaban Lore Drop (Finally!)
Let’s start with the heavy hitter. Scopper Gaban is finally pulling his weight in the story. For the longest time, we've been wondering how the Straw Hats are supposed to actually damage the Gorosei or "immortals" since Gear 5 was barely holding them back on Egghead.
Gaban’s explanation is simple but game-changing: Conqueror’s Haki coating. It doesn't just hit them; it slows their regeneration. The fact that he knows this because the Roger Pirates fought the Holy Knights repeatedly to protect Shanks is just... wow.
It adds so much weight to Shanks' backstory.
It confirms the Holy Knights have been a threat since Roger’s era.
It explains why Roger’s crew was considered so monstrous they were routinely beating up the World Government’s elite.
The "Cutie Squirrel" Twist
In classic Oda fashion, right in the middle of a deathmatch between Loki and Ragnir, we get a curveball. Loki’s hammer breaks, things look grim, and then Ragnir turns into... a cute squirrel?
I actually laughed out loud reading the spoilers. It completely subverts the "terrifying guardian beast" trope. The fact that the squirrel just accepts Loki and opens the chest for him feels weirdly wholesome. It’s that unique One Piece charm where the legendary guardian is just a little guy.
The Devil Fruit & The Silhouette (Of Course)
Loki finally eats the Legendary Devil Fruit! But, because Oda loves to torture us, we only get a silhouette. We see claws, so it’s definitely a Zoan (probably Mythical), but we still don't have the full design.
While I’m a little annoyed by the "Silhouette Piece" trope striking again, the payoff seems worth it. The imagery of Loki (with the claws) and Ragnir (back in human form) teaming up is pure hype.
The Climax: Shattered
The ending sequence sounds incredibly satisfying. We’ve seen the "immortals" tank damage forever, so seeing Harald actually get shattered into pieces by a combo attack coated in Conqueror’s Haki feels like real progression. It proves Gaban’s theory immediately.
The Verdict: This chapter has everything: a training montage/explanation from a legend (Gaban), a hilarious twist (Squirrel Ragnir), and a brutal finisher. It connects the past (Roger/Shanks) with the present (Loki/Harald) perfectly.
Best news of the week? NO BREAK NEXT WEEK! We get to see the aftermath of Harald's defeat immediately.
Based on the "claws" detail and the heavy Norse mythology themes of the Elbaf arc, here are the best theories for what Loki’s Legendary Devil Fruit could be:
1. The Top Contender: Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Fenrir
This is the most likely candidate. In Norse mythology, Fenrir is a monstrous wolf and one of the children of Loki.
The "Claws" Connection: A wolf’s primary weapons are its claws and teeth. The silhouette emphasizing claws points strongly toward a carnivorous Zoan.
The Narrative Fit: Fenrir is destined to kill Odin during Ragnarok. If Harald represents the "King/Odin" figure in this scenario, it makes perfect thematic sense for Loki to eat the "Fenrir" fruit to destroy the established order.
The "Legendary" Status: A Mythical Zoan of the wolf that brings about the end of the world fits the description of a fruit that Ragnir had to protect for centuries.
2. The Viking Symbolic Choice: Kuma Kuma no Mi, Model: Berserker (or Great Bear)
"Berserker" warriors in Viking history were said to fight with the trance-like fury of a bear (the word berserk comes from "bear shirt").
- The "Claws" Connection: Bears have massive claws, arguably more prominent in a silhouette than a wolf's.
The Power Set: This would grant Loki unstoppable physical strength and endurance, fitting for a Giant. It would explain why he could "shatter" Harald with a physical blow.
3. The Wildcard: Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Fafnir (Dragon)
Fafnir was a dwarf who turned into a dragon because of his greed for gold/treasure.
The "Claws" Connection: Dragons have talons/claws.
Why it fits: We know Oda loves Dragons (Kaido, Momonosuke). Fafnir is specifically a Norse dragon. It would contrast cooly with Kaido's Eastern dragon design Fafnir would likely be a more jagged, heavy, Western-style dragon or a lindworm.
4. The "Trickster" Twist: Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Jotun (Frost Giant) or Ancient God
Even though Loki is already a giant, we’ve seen Hito Hito (Human-Human) fruits used on humans (Sengoku) to make them deities.
The Connection: He could be transforming into a specific primordial entity of destruction. The "claws" could just be part of a monstrous, demonic deity form, similar to how Saturn's form had distinct, sharp limbs.
My Bet: Model Fenrir
It feels too perfect. The "wolf in sheep's clothing" metaphor (or squirrel's clothing, in Ragnir's case) and the destiny of the "Wolf eating the King/Sun" is a core One Piece theme. Plus, giving the Prince of Elbaf the power of the Wolf that swallows the world is exactly the kind of high-stakes drama Oda loves.

I like the implication that the Holy Knights were just some nuisance to the Roger Pirates, these invincible warriors powered by a dark god feared by all and they kept getting spanked by a bunch of idiots that thought they were annoying.
So, the hammer was indeed the one with some kinda of squirrel transformation, probably that's why it was making those strange sounds at the end of the last chapter. Now, what fruit does Loki actually have now is the question. Some kinda of Fernrir fruit? In norse mythology, Loki was the father of Fenrir.
You know, this makes me wonder if Shanks really defeated Loki in a straightforward fight or not. If Harald’s conqueror was too strong for Gaban back then (and Shanks which makes sense), and Loki nanaged to overpower that then it makes me wonder how strong he is.
While that would've allowed Loki defeat Harald technically: in essence... cause him pain, slow down his regeneration, and ultimately render him unable to continue fighting just like Gaban explained, I still don't understand how Loki was able to kill him.
Sommers (I presume) and other HK who tried retrieving Shanks would’ve probably legitimately died if Rodger or his crew knew how to kill them permanently, but somehow… Loki could do it with Harald.
Ngl man, the entire thing doesn’t make much sense to me, or at least seem consistent. IMO, Harald should still be alive unless Imu withdrew the immortality seal himself, because even Joyboy with his godly haki couldn't stop Gorousei's immortality permanently; he just cut it off temporarily since Saturn could still heal, which at least is consistent with Gaban’s temporary solution.
Or maybe… Loki’s final brute force attack, together with the lightening, was so earth-shattering that it not only disintegrated Harald into several pieces but also vaporized him to the point nothing was left other than his elements, since we’ve previously seen them lose a significant chunk of their bodies and still regenerate?
There seems to be many examples.. in how to deal with Imu's demonization, Gods Knights, and Mind control
1) In god valley a domi reversed xebec at the very very end it was cured from D.R trough Roger and Garp attack.. it can be seen his normal eyes andlack of fangs and his sanity came back he even admited the curse was lifted.. ( tough trough thismethod he was probably deadly injured by the combined attack ) He was finished by Garling.
2) Classic GK bullshit...
as Gaban Sayed using insane haki attacks doesn't outright kill them but you are able to make them stop function.. like being sliced by law 10 times by second and not let them regenerate to fight properly, ergo failing the mission cause a Human puzzle cant fight properly.
3) Mind control and i think this was Harald Case, he ragains his mind for a few seconds, lower all his defenses and let himself be killed
Oh.. i know i say it earlier but this chap proof a Devil fruit doesn't rotten or lose their power, no matter if it is locked in a chest for 900 years..
Damn, the raw makes this look like a great chapter. Ragnir being a hammer with the ratatorks mythical zoan makes sense. But if it was guarding the fruit there's a good chance that the fruit loki got is the nidhogg mythical zoan. A giant wielding a powerful dragon fruit would be quite a thing to behold. Kaido's dragon form was incredibly large but his hybrid form was just somewhat larger than kaido's human form. On top of that, in norse myth the fruit knaws at the world tree... but OP has at least 2 such trees, the adam tree and the eve tree. Which plays perfectly to the prophecy that fishman island will be destroyed. Things take an interesting turn when we consider loki's relation to shirahoshi...
Very interesting how Gaban was sure,,, none of the GK.s can use Haoushokou,,, but Harald does,,,, maybe he tought it was not possible for them to have that Regen and Inmortality and at the same Time Wield Conquerors Haki...since,, the mere fact of Creating it,, it could make them weak.. kinda make a little sense,, i mean their only weakpoint to BARELYYYYY slowdown the regen,, and turn them to human puzzles not being able to move or comply their objectives it is Conquerors Haki...so kinda of them Having it,, make it No sense,, like Generate the same thing that make them weak,,but Harald Proof him wrong.
TO BE HONEST... I DEFINITLY CANT NOT FKING IMAGINE SHAMROCK NOT USING MASSIVE CONQUEROR HAKI....it would have been an ABSOLUTE WASTE.. i see him as an exact 100% Evil twin of Shanks,, with the same Haki Power than him.
It looks like damaging the seal itself is what weakens the hold, given that there is a panel of the seal's part healing coinciding with Harald saying dominion is returning.
Anyway, I'm glad we can move on from the thought the Nika fruit was there.
Now, to dispel the terrible idea that time flows differently in Elbaf.
I appreciate that the Elbaf arc has repeatedly caused people to hope for the sensational (the entirety of the minature kingdom) only to be reeled back in to reality, only to have Imu come and make it sensational again.
It has been a ride.
Okay interesting didn't expect it to be a new fruit but happy it is. Since they say Loki is the destroyer than he must have eaten a mythical zoan that represents something related to ragnarok. It could be Fenri a wolf, Jörmungandr the serpent, or even something like Surtur. Guessing we'll get reveal in the present fight.
